The DeKalb County Commission recently had the privilege of honoring a family whose legacy is woven into the fabric of our community.

Commissioners proudly presented a proclamation recognizing Mr. Loyd Ivey on the occasion of his upcoming 100th birthday and celebrating the 75th wedding anniversary of Loyd and Louise Ivey.

Few individuals have the opportunity to reach a century of life, and even fewer couples are blessed with 75 years of marriage. Together, these milestones represent a lifetime of dedication, perseverance, faith, family, and service.

The Commission’s proclamation designates June 26 as Loyd Ivey Day in recognition of Mr. Ivey’s 100th birthday and June 29 as Loyd and Louise Ivey Day in honor of their 75 years of marriage and their many contributions to DeKalb County.

It was a special day for the Ivey family and for DeKalb County as a whole. We are proud to celebrate a couple whose lives have touched so many and whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

Congratulations to Loyd and Louise Ivey on these extraordinary milestones. DeKalb County is honored to celebrate with you.
